The CASSANDRA-REGICOR system allows estimation of the number of coronary events in a population within 10 years using projections based on population studies in Catalonia. The estimates apply the anticipated demographic changes, the initial prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors, and the 10-year changes anticipated over those 10 years for Girona, Catalonia and Spain. The estimates can be done for other areas under certain conditions.
